An Enduro bike needs to do two things: eat-up mountainous terrain on the downhills and climb back up to do it all again. The new Tracer can do just that. The Tracer 279 has been upgraded to the Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) and SRAM T-Type compatibility.
Borrowing design inspiration and technology from our M29 downhill bike, utilizing its bottom link-driven rear shock and suspension design, this mountain bike has plush travel for the roughest of descents and a firm pedal platform when needed. Intense positioned the rear shock low down and centered in the frame, allowing the Tracer to descend and handle terrain impeccably.
The Chad Storage system is an on-bike storage solution that is being introduced on the Tracer. This system is not one individual part but a concept for storage solutions that will continue to evolve.
The Tracer 279 has a 'Flip Chip' feature which allows you to alter your bike's geometry between two positions. The High setting is best in technical terrain, while the Low is more suitable for flow and bike park-style riding.
The Tracer 279 is designed around a staggered wheelset, meaning 29" in front and 27.5" in the rear. We've found an outstanding balance of agility and stability. The tracer is ready when the trails get tight, or you're looking to shave time off of race stages.
The Tracer is equipped with a JS tuned link. JS stands for Jeff Steber (Intense founder and CEO); simply put, it is a sophisticated suspension system that uses two counter-rotating links to connect the front and rear triangles of the bike. The links are precisely placed to separate the pedaling and braking forces from the suspension performance. Every model in the lineup has its own personal and specific JS tune.
